On Friday, June 27, President Dr. Kathy Baig and Secretary General and Vice President Mr. Cédrick Pautel of the École de technologie supérieure (ETS) , Université du Québec, along with Dr. Adélie De Marre and Dr. Emilie Mikura from the Délégation générale du Québec à Tokyo, visited our university.
They were welcomed by President Dr. Kazuhiro Shiozaki, Vice President Dr. Jun Ota, Dean Prof. Taku Demura, and Prof. Shoji Kasahara. First, President Shiozaki delivered the opening remarks, introducing the educational system that leverages our university's distinctive graduate school system. He also expressed his hope for fostering deeper mutual understanding to facilitate future exchanges.
Following that, President Baig expressed her view that there are numerous similarities in the characteristics of the two universities, suggesting that a strong degree of affinity could be anticipated in future collaborations.
She accordingly expressed her hope to discuss the potential for future exchanges.
Following mutual introductions of each university, we engaged in a lively discussion about potential future collaborations.
After the courtesy visit, the delegation toured two laboratories specializing in Information Science and discussed the possibility of various exchanges with NAIST faculty members.
